Fairy Dust

The light glistens on the dewy blades of grass. The giant angel of the morning rising into the sky. The flowers still closed, the fairies still sleeping. I spend the next 2 hours readying the garden for a spectacular tea party. Blankets laid perfectly in cosy corners, an old boat laid on the lawn, ready to be filled with bottles of bubbles and a feast! Trees adorned with jars of fairy dust, hundreds of hand folded butterflies and twinkling candles. A bark path winding through the trees. Hay bail armchairs and colourful cushions fill the intimate space.

One side of the boat is soon filled with ice, champagne and booze, the other side, mirrors of sliced meats, platters laden with cheeses, huge baguettes, and beautiful bowls of salads, with oars for spoons. A feast for the eyes.

Glass pots of steaming herb tea being poured to each corner of the garden. The twinkling of fairy song, drifting through the air. A tea party like no other.
