The Upside Down Wonderland
The entrance to the tent is a tunnel covered in earth ,then into the marquee, the floor of the tent is covered in twinkling lights. I look up and trees are hanging from the ceiling, tables and chairs suspended upside down, what is this madness, why a mad hatter tea party! The kids come charging through, laughing and playing. Their faces painted, one a the Mad Hatter, there is Alice and the Queen of Hearts. All the characters are here, they are serving delicious little sandwiches and crazy cup cakes. There is a large long table down the centre, covered in the most delicious, wonderful, feast. Roast chickens, sliced crackling pork, crispy Pies and Bowls of steaming roasted vegies, jugs of gravy and giant Yorkshire puddings. Parents and children diving in, helping them selves to the glorious feast.
A violin floating through the room. The songs dancing through the air. A magic moment of Wonderland happiness.
